Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME, through the Khadi & Village Industries Commission, is implementing Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the country including Madhya Pradesh State to set up new micro units. Under PMEGP, General Category beneficiaries can avail Margin Money subsidy of 25% of the project cost in rural areas and 15% in urban areas. For Special Categories such as SC / ST / OBC / Minorities / Women / Ex-serviceman / Transgenders / Differently-abled / NER / Aspirational Districts / Hill and Border areas etc., the Margin Money subsidy is 35% in rural areas and 25% in urban areas. The maximum cost of the project is Rs. 50 lakh in the manufacturing sector and Rs. 20 lacks in the service sector.
The targets of setting up new projects/units under PMEGP in Madhya Pradesh State and Gwalior District for FY 2023-24 are 5528 units and 97 units respectively. Minister of State for MSMEs, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh mentioned in his written reply to Lok Sabha recently.
