MSME Development Institute organised seminar on “Bounce Back Strategies for Business Growth”

New Delhi: In order to address the challenges faced by startups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises due to COVID impact, MSME DI Okhla branch and We Spark Start-up Association (WeSSA) organised an insightful panel discussion themed on “Bounce Back Strategies for Business Growth”.

The discussion put forth solutions, ideas and initiatives from industry experts on how MSME entrepreneurs can bounce back their business growth to the pre-pandemic era.

Dr Suvrokamal Dutta in his keynote address praised the contribution of MSME’s and lauded the resilience of MSMEs which have been contributing to the National economy in spite of facing challenges like pandemic. He also said that Modi Govt’s commitment towards MSME growth is reflected in recent budget where in provision of Rs 15,700 crore has been made for the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in the Union Budget 2021-22, which is almost double of the previous year. Present Government is continuously working towards easing of business and also has proactively launched various industry friendly schemes particularly targeted to strengthen MSME’s so that they are able to overcome challenges being faced due to pandemic. In my view Indian economy is already on the way back.

Dr R K Bharti, Joint Director, MSME-DI, New Delhi talked about new initiative by MSME Ministry CHAMPIONS portal- a technology driven platform which works as a single window system for the MSMEs to address grievances of MSME’s mainly related to finance, raw materials, labour, permissions, etc. assured the participating MSME entrepreneurs of all help from his department at all times. He assured participants that grievances are taken care of within maximum 72 hours.

Shri Raj Pathak, President, WeSpark Startup Association (WeSSA) said that inspite of several efforts by Government organisations, still large number of MSME’s particularly startups are not aware of such schemes and thus are not able to benefit from the same. The need of the hour is to increase reach out efforts and ensure maximum information is available to MSME’s and startups in real time. He also informed that We Spark Startup Assocation (WeSSA) is newly formed section 8 association to help enterprising youth of the country, particularly from smaller towns to connect with the entrepreneruial wave and contribute by creating wealth and employment opportunities.

Shri Karun Kumar Assistant Director, MSME made a brief presentation on various MSME schemes and also very sincerely answered queries from participants. He also invited MSME’s to contact him at any time for any problem they may face in availing MSME Schemes.

The knowledge session moderated by Shri Sandipan Ray had eminent panelists namely Shri Vijay Sethi, Digital evangelist & IT Expert, Shri Prasun Chowdhury, Founder Avenir, Shri Ashish Khare, Founder MentorKart. The discussion was very interactive, valuable and enriching.

The event was attended by 35 MSME entrepreneurs from across multiple industrial and service sectors and was mainly from different parts of Delhi NCR.
